Flying over the Norfolk Broads in a Hot Air Balloon is always quite a treat and this evenings balloon flight was to be quite special. We launched from Wensum valley golf club Taverham at 6.10 p.m. Norwich airport were rather busy so we had to wait for our take off slot. With a call the Air traffic control we had the ‘go’. Quickly airborne to 1500 feet in contact with Norwich airport. One passenger jet started its take off on its way to the channel Islands then two of Bristows helicopters were coming in from the north sea.
We flew over the top of Wroxham with all of the Norfolk Broads in clear view. We could of landed close to Neatishead but there was too much to see, so we pressed on crossing the broad adjacent to How Hill then onto Ludham With Horsey Broad and the coast four miles away it was time to land ! With a gentle bump and a drag we landed in a stubble field at Potter Heigham.
