Hot air balloon rides over Norwich, Norfolk and Suffolk. We have created a friendly, happy and exciting atmosphere enabling us to provide a high quality service with attention to detail We like to encourage passengers, friends and relations to help rig and prepare the balloon prior to flight, if they wish.
The passengers then stand back whilst the pilot inflates the balloon. Once the balloon is fully inflated the passengers climb aboard and we are ready for take-off. AND WE’RE OFF!
Once in flight, your balloon ride is totally stable and is an ideal platform for aerial photography so don’t forget your cameras!
The whole Hot Air Ballooning experience will last three to four hours, one hour of which is the approximate flying time. On average we fly at a height of between 500 and 3,000 feet.
We recommend you wear outdoor clothing suitable for the time of year long trousers rather than shorts, preferably natural fibres. Wear sensible flat soled shoes or boots and bring a hat – this will protect you from the radiant heat from the propane burners.
Balloon Flights After landing, we toast the flight with a glass of chilled bubbly (or something non alcoholic for those who prefer), before returning to the launch site.
When can we Fly?
We fly all year round, although the weather in spring ,summer and early autumn are more conducive to ballooning. Between April and late September flights take place two hours before sunset, and sunrise seven days a week. In the winter, flights take place mid-morning or mid-afternoon, generally at weekends (subject to suitable ground conditions)
Who can Fly?
There is no upper age limit for a balloon flight, although a degree of agility is required. Passengers should be able to stand for the duration of the flight. Children should be at least 4’6″ tall and accompanied by an adult. Passengers with specific health problems or any disabilities are advised to consult their own doctor and contact our office to discuss the possibility of flying. At present we are unable to provide wheelchair access into our flight equipment, as our baskets are not certificated for the carriage of wheel chairs. However we can always refer you to someone that can provide that facility and give you expert guidance. We have a weight limit of 18 stone per passenger, however if a person is over this weight it is still possible to fly; but you will need to contact our office before booking.
Weather
Ballooning is highly weather dependant and can only take place in stable weather conditions, for example, light winds no rain actual or forecast and good visibility. You will need to contact us on the day of your flight, to make sure the conditions are suitable, so please bear with us if your flight is postponed. If a flight has to be postponed, an alternative date will be arranged to suit you.
