This afternoon was ideal for our balloon trip over Norfolk. The wind was a gentle 5 m.p.h flow coming from the south east, unbroken skies and above all good visibility. We took the air at 4.45 p.m. from Mattishall golf club, and ascended to 2,000 feet. The hot air balloon drifted towards Dereham passing over Clint Green and Yaxham. Once clear of Dereham we descended to 500 feet which is a perfect altitude for taking photographs and chatting to on lookers below!!
The balloon followed the old A47 and flew over Scarning church, we were now in open countryside so descended down to below 200 feet for the landing skimming over the tree tops and watching the last fields of wheat being harvested. The balloon landed in a stubble field in the parish of Wendling. The balloon was packed away and we toasted the flight watching another stunning sunset.
