A balloon flight over Norwich and the Norfolk broads
Our main launch site is Earlham Park situated adjacent to the University of East Anglia giving spectacular views of the historic city of Norwich. Access is via the B1108 simply follow the signs for UEA and Sportspark. Drive all the way down university drive, it is better to use the main university car park on the left. It is a minimal pay and display but you will be directly opposite the section of park we fly from walk past the security lodge which is situated at the main entrance of the UEA and into the park and you will see the balloon team

OLD BUCKENHAM AIRFIELD
This site is easily accessed from the A11 some 12 miles south west of Norwich and is well sign posted. Please remember this is an active airfield and it is important you park in the visitors car park adjacent to the club house, drive up the main drive and bear left and meet the balloon team there please do not attempt to cross the runway. Our team will be there to greet passengers and family alike and keep all well informed
Located centrally in the county of Norfolk it is an ideal location for a memorable balloon ride. Encompassing views of Norwich and the Broads to the west. Along with the historic towns of Attleborough and Wymondham Just to the west lay one of the largest areas of man made forests in Europe run primarily by the forestry commission running from Swaffham to Bury St Edmunds has a wealth of conservation and boasts one of the largest deer populations in the country, including Red Deer. So when you are not in the skies hot air ballooning. High Lodge in the middle of the forest is a magical place to explore for you and your family With many facilities such as family bike hire, conservation walks and for the really adventurous a ‘High Wire’ course from Go Ape Also the venue for many open air concerts
The airfield is known locally as Old Buck Steeped in aviation history the airfield was home of the 453 bomb group. In 1943 this sleepy Norfolk backwater was awoken to 2000 American airman arriving to assist the allies during WW2 In fact for those of you who are early Hollywood movie fans, the renowned actor ‘Jimmy Stewart’ was Operations Officer here during 1944 to early 1945 After the war Old Buck was returned to the Air Ministry and remained active until 1960 It is now home of the very active Aero club now home to various aircraft such as the vintage Stearman bi-planes and the ‘Wildcats Aerobatic Display team. Acres of manicured grass and excellent facilities. Good quality food is available at competitive prices Flying from here would be best described as a well-rounded aviation experience
